MindTap
Neurotechnology Design Team
MindTap is an accessible neurotechnology application that empowers people with physical disabilities to interact with their mobile devices using EEG brain signals.
About MindTap
Many mobile applications assume that users can rely on touch, fine motor control, or voice input. For individuals with physical disabilities, these assumptions can create significant barriers to digital independence.
MindTap was created to challenge those assumptions. By leveraging electroencephalography (EEG) headsets, the application enables hands-free interaction with smartphones, offering an alternative pathway for control that does not depend on physical movement.
Accessibility is the foundation of MindTap, not an add-on. The project follows person-first language, inclusive design practices, and accessibility standards to ensure the experience is usable, respectful, and empowering for a diverse range of users.
